It is &#8220;The Unicorn Designer&#8221;. One who likes to design but can also code. To add more dimension, I can tell you that I\u2019m a huge data nerd, visual perfectionist and thrive in a position where collaboration, taking informed risks and leadership are valued and necessary. An atmosphere of excitement, positivity while solving challenging problems is where I perform the best. I want to be given responsibility, loose reins to solve problems creatively; I am not phased by difficulty. As a member of a four-person company, I was also tasked with pulling data out of our databases and writing SQL functions to customize our clients&#8217; sites.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Key Accomplishments<\/em><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Website redesign and writing help pages which reduced our customer calls and tickets by about 10%, and allowed us to refer our users to these help pages which further reduced the hours we spent on support tickets.<\/li>\n<li>Completed 7+ projects to gather requirements, and modify SQL in clients&#8217; databases to provide spreadsheet-like calculations. Activities are purely self-initiated and include organization and leadership of summer and winter camps, finding volunteers, sending invites, creating schedules and food catering, as well as sending young leaders to specific camps to become certified scout leaders.<\/p>\n<h2>IT Intern BAE Systems, Herndon, VA<\/h2>\n<h4 style=\"margin-top: 0em;\">Summer 2010<\/h4>\n<p>Helped the Enterprise Information Technology towers of security, network engineering, desktop engineering, and distributed systems by completing mini projects such as re-imaging and configuring Dell and HP laptops, adding network &#8220;discoverability&#8221; to Cisco switches and routers, mapping networks using Visio, analyzing audits, and finding solutions to SMTP filtering. Also worked concurrently on a 10 week long project in a group of 4 to reduce company-wide incidence of phishing. This involved heavy use of Excel\u2019s pivot tables for graphical representation of statistics, concluding with a presentation of the project findings to executives. <a href=\"index.php\/portfolio\/info-technology\/analysis\/\">more<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Faculty Assistant Intro to Databases Course, Syracuse, NY \u2022 Spring 2010<\/h2>\n<p>Helped students plan and execute projects in a MySQL database. The projects involved creating relational diagrams based on the description of a business and programming the design into the database. They students were also tasked with creating code for certain procedures, views, and functions. Graded assignments and created answer keys. Worked an average of 10 hours per week.<\/p>\n<h2>Math Tutor, Grader Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY \u2022 2008\u20132010<\/h2>\n<p>Tutored students in pre-calculus, single variable, and multivariable calculus on a walk-in basis for 7 hours a week. The random nature of students\u2019 questions required sharpness, quick problem solving ability, as well as a professional comportment. In addition, I was usually assigned to one or two professors for whom I worked up to 5 hours per week grading students&#8217; math quizzes and homework assignments.<\/p>\n<h2>Graphic\/Web Designer CP-Analitika, Budapest, Hungary \u2022 Summer 2009<\/h2>\n<p>Worked for a Hungarian chromatography company for the summer. Redesigned their logo and created a new website from ground up integrating plugins that managed the menus, a flash slideshow, as well as a language switching option to and from English and Hungarian. Used WordPress as the content management system, which uses PHP to create dynamic pages.<\/p>\n<h2>Rowing Coach NVRC Masters, Occoquan, VA \u2022 Summers 2006\u20132010<\/h2>\n<p>Coached novice and experienced men\u2019s and women\u2019s shells for two hours up to 3 times a week. Work involved preparing practices, executing drills to improve the rowers&#8217; technique, and driving a motorboat while instructing practices. During the second half of the course, we covered graph search algorithms, hashing, NP-complete problems, and inheritance within C++. I completed projects which implemented algorithms we studied such as Dijkstra's graph search, and Huffman encoding.\n\n\n<h3>Introduction to Dynamic Web languages \u2022 Spring 2011<\/h3>\n\n\nWorked through an overview of HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, and AJAX, completing little assignments on creating a login-logout system, learning how to hash passwords, connecting to a database, and creating asynchronous requests to the server. Used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nucserv.com\">Nucserv<\/a> to create a local development atmosphere on personal computer.
