At first, this seems great: you can live chat, or schedule a callback. No searching for hidden phone numbers or navigating lengthy FAQ and help documentation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it took me three months before I finally was able to speak to someone on the phone about my issue.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although I am now embarrassed to say**, I pulled this window up once in a while, usually in the afternoon. I know this company is on the East Coast, so I assumed that there wasn\u2019t a \u201ccall us now\u201d option because it was already past their working hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every time I pulled this up, I thought, dang, I must have missed them again. I don\u2019t really want to live-chat because in this case, it was just easier over the phone. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was especially duped since this same modal showed only the &#8220;schedule callback option&#8221; over the weekend. Then another callback that I didn\u2019t receive for some reason. I started getting annoyed. Fine, I will call them when it\u2019s not their lunchtime, nor is it past 5 pm EST. At 11 am on a weekday, I click that &#8220;contact us&#8221; icon, and the same window appeared. <em>What, still? What am I missing??&nbsp;<\/em> I thought to myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that\u2019s when it dawned on me: The phone number is right in front of my face &#x1f926;&#x200d;&#x2640;&#xfe0f;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"278\" height=\"163\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ildikototh.com\/wordpress3_0_1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/PhoneNumber.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2090\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ildikototh.com\/wordpress3_0_1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/PhoneNumber.png 278w, https:\/\/www.ildikototh.com\/wordpress3_0_1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/PhoneNumber-250x147.png 250w, https:\/\/www.ildikototh.com\/wordpress3_0_1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/PhoneNumber-100x59.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 278px) 100vw, 278px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>And it was even a link I could tap from my mobile phone! DUH. Why didn\u2019t I think of that!? Well, actually it wasn\u2019t that obvious. The other two options overpower the interface with icons, and the blue section in the middle looks like an information panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So I redesigned it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none;\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.figma.com\/embed?embed_host=share&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.figma.com%2Fproto%2FJTf5EtKEWGJByU8yzsOLbh%2FIonos-Contact-Modal-Redesign%3Fnode-id%3D19%253A0%26viewport%3D3%252C-232%252C0.23946359753608704%26scaling%3Dcontain%26hotspot-hints%3D0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>The main difference is that I call out the option to &#8220;call now&#8221;, as the first and most prominent action. I styled the button and colors like the original modal has, to keep consistency. The blue &#8220;info panel&#8221; stays, because it is good information for when you do make that call. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also made sure to show the phone number in case the user is on a desktop and needs to dial the number. Notice that it is formatted like a phone number so there are no questions about what those ten digits are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:54px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:12px\">* Source: Customer Experience 3.0 by John A.
